# Set up Cloche

Someone asked you to set up Cloche in their coding agent. Handle setup for them,
then verify that it works. Setup does not authorize building, rewriting, or
publishing an app.

## 1. Connect

Add Cloche as an MCP server at:

    https://mcp.cloche.dev/mcp

Use your client's supported MCP configuration or registration command. Reuse an
existing Cloche entry when it points to this address. Run setup commands yourself
when your tools allow it; never ask the person to run terminal commands.
Start the client's sign-in flow and ask the person to finish it in their browser.

If you cannot add the server yourself, explain where to add the address in the
client's settings. If the client needs a restart or a new conversation before
the tools become available, explain that next step. Wait until the person has
completed the required steps before continuing. Do not claim Cloche is connected
while a manual step, sign-in, or restart is still pending.

## 2. Verify the connection

Call Cloche's list_apps tool. A successful result, including an empty app list,
confirms authenticated access. Listing available tools or reading deploy
instructions does not verify sign-in. If the call fails or the tool is missing,
explain the problem and the next step; do not report that setup is complete.

## 3. Tell them it is ready

Only after list_apps succeeds, say Cloche is ready to use in this coding agent.
Ask what they would like to build, or which existing project they want to publish.
Wait for their request before creating, modifying, or publishing an app.

## What you will be building

- One self-contained client-side page — HTML, CSS and JavaScript, plain text.
No server code, no build step.
- People and storage via `window.cloche.*`; the platform knows who saved
each row. Do not write login, signup, or your own database.
- Apps that store data declare collections in the same publish call.
- One call publishes. When writing will take a while, reserve the address
first so they hold the link while you write.

## When they ask to publish an existing project

Read the deploy contract before changing the project. If it needs changes to fit
Cloche, explain those changes and stay within the requested scope. A local
folder or successful setup alone is not a request to publish.
